NEW Christmas Cards!

Dan and I are pleased to announce that our new Christmas cards are now available!

These cards are simply primitive & folky! The front is an original illustration by Dan of a quaint cabin amongst the pines and the wish of a Merry Christmas. We antique the edges of each card for a soft, aged look. Cards are blank inside so you can personalize with your own message. Suitable for framing, too!

Printed on acid & lignen-free kraft card stock. 4" x 5.5"

Set of 6 cards & envelopes $14.95 (Visit http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/22874626 ) or for sale individually on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop/wrprimitives )

Wishing you all the joys of the season,

Chris

Sorghum Candy Canes

With the holidays approaching, so many memories of my childhood Christmases come to mind. One of my favorite things to do in preparation for Christmas was to make sorghum candy with my grandmother. My brother and I would sit at her kitchen table while Grandma prepared the molasses brew. When the taffy had cooled enough to be handled, we would pull, twist, and shape the warm taffy, then wait impatiently to sample our treats.
Some of the greatest gifts in life are the special memories we cherish.
In honor of my grandmother, we have created a different type of sorghum "candy". Our Sorghum Candy Canes are for decorative purposes only and are now available on the website. For more information, please visit: http://www.picturetrail.com/walnutridgeprimitives

Come on Baby, Let's do the twist...

...The Tobacco Twist, that is!
My new pattern, Faux Tobacco Twist, will be available 8-27-2011!
These look very realistic and you won't require a tobacco license to sell them. While they may not be for everyone, they are sure to be a neccessity for those who decorate in early cabin primitive!

Created in memory & honor of my dad, my hero; J. Hurn - a great man who liked to do the twist.

I hope you will enjoy.

You will find this and other patterns on my PictureTrail: http://www.picturetrail.com/walnutridgeprimitives and in my Etsy Shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/wrprimitives

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Overdue Update

Well, I think the title says it all...It has been a while, hasn't it?
Let's see...What have I been up to since February? Hmm...Here are a few of the highlights...
I rode in an elevator with a dog named, "Otis" up to an incredible treehouse...I met a four-hour old miniature horse...attended a Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup game...replied, "Absolutely" to a marriage proposal...ate far too many chocolates...spent a great deal of time on Facebook...created a PictureTrail album...released a few new patterns...and launched the new line of Pen and Ink Primitives. I have some pictures to share. Enjoy...
